The Advanced Medical Imaging and Visualization Unit was established in 2011 and is one of three Biomedical Research Units funded by the Welsh Government's National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR). It is a partnership between the Research Institute of Visual Computing (RIVIC), the NHS in Wales and Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities. The Unit employs a team of eight research officers to work on projects where imaging and visualization technologies can provide added value to medical applications.
